Perinatal Mental Health

The perinatal mental health programme takes care of an expecting mother’s mental health during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Mental health during pregnancy matters- doubly so as it involves the wellbeing of both mother and child. While it is assumed to be a happy and wondrous state for the expecting mother, it has its own mental health challenges and risk factors. Perinatal mental health issues may lead to preterm delivery, low birth weight, impaired postnatal growth and mother-child attachment problems, thus it is necessary that adequate steps be taken early to prevent as well as ameliorate any distress early on. We provide the necessary assessment, diagnosis, counselling and training to ensure a happy mother and child.
